Just finished the two hour project for the Wetcanvas drawing event for this week, I choose this subject from the 16 photos provided, it would probably take another 2 hours to polish this painting.

Strawberry and tree bark study

This is my submission for the "PAINT AND DRAW TOGETHER" blog, put on by Lela Stankovic, she provided an excellent photo. I am torn by trying to paint photo-realism or painterly.

May 2010 Challenge Study, ADNW

The "A Day Not Wasted" Website provided some reference material, a beautiful still life, which I painted in oil on a 9 by 12 canvas-panel, I think the reflection in the copper pitcher was the challenge which I enjoyed.

Wet canvas weekly painting, Half Dome, Yosemity

This is my submission for the weekly Drawing event at www.wetcanvas.com. We get to choose from 16 photos, pick one and draw or paint our interpretation in a time limit of 2 hours, I am always having fun with this exercise. This little oil painting is on a 9 by 12 canvas panel.

Rhody study

This painting of some rhododendron gave me some fits for some time, painted with oil on a 18 by 24 canvas, it's about 80% finished I'll post it again when I am done.

Wetland color study

I took a photo during my early morning walk with my dog, then using the Topaz/simplify filter, painted the newly created image in oil on a 11 by 16 canvas panel.

Market girl

While visiting the Saturday Market in Eugene, I took a photo of this young lady, with great back lighting. I painted this portrait with oil on a 11 by 14 canvas panel.

Reflection

After studying Edward Hopper's works, I painted this oil on a 24 by 12 canvas, titled "Reflection".
