Oregon Landscapes

While we had bad weather I painted some Oregon Landscapes from photo reference material,
12 by 12 in oil.

Quick Impression, Mt. David

We had a light dusting of fresh snow, maybe the last of this year and I took my dog for a walk up Mt. David at 8am, it was foggy but the rising sun gave the scene a yellow glow. Painted in oil on a 6 by 8 panel.

Freeform Papersculpture

Another fun challenge from the DPW Blog, paint a picture of a crumpled piece of paper, lots of subtle value changes, painted in oil on a 8 by 10 canvas panel.

Plain Air at Harms Park

Fridays "Paint Out" with the PPLC Group, at Harms Park at Dorena Lake, here in Cottage Grove. This oil on a 9 by 12 canvas panel, is of the old Railroad Bridge which was converted from "Rails to Trails" project some years ago.

Columbia Gorge Winery

I was suppose to go out and paint Plain Air, but the rain never stopped falling, so painted from a photo, 12 by 12 oil.

Plain Air, Creswell

Another Plain Air today at the Garden Lake Park in Creswell, and the battle continues, first the elements, it was cold, finger numbing at 8am, lack of technique, etc.

But on the bright side, its always wonderful to be out in the fresh air, observing the wild life and hoping the next painting will be the one.
