Walk in the Park, Central Park


Here is my submission for the " A Day Not Wasted Blog" put on by Lee Brown. Last time I took a trip to NYC, and after visiting the Metropolitan, my wife and I visited Central Park and walked under the same viaducts and admired the Art Nouveau streetlamps, Lee's photo reference brought back memories. This oil painting is on a 16 by 20 canvas.

My wife and I visited Rio about 10 Years ago in February during the Carnival, and we walked along the beach, drinking Coconut juice, which we bought from on of those stands, it sure brought back some memories, thanks Bill for putting on this challenge.

Irish Sheep Herder


About 5 years ago I painted this 20 by 16 oil, I am quite happy with this painting, I thought the dog and the rock came out quite well.

At one of the art shows I participated, one of the prizes I won was a 4 ft. by 3. ft canvas, after about a year of storage, I tackled the monster, it was quite a project plus it gave me the excuse to buy a new easel, good thing we have 10 ft ceilings. It is the largest oil painting I've ever done. It won best of show at the local fair, and my wife said its NFS.

This month challenge was fairly time consuming, lots of reflection and details, I could spend another week on the project, but it was fun and I learned a lot. It was done in oil on a 18 by 24 canvas panel.
